According to the latest price report reported by idealista, during the last quarter the price of rent rose by 4.9% while in the last year there has been an increase of 13%.

In total 41 capital cities have experienced increases in the price of rental housing during the last month. The most pronounced increase was seen in Soria where rents rose by 6.3% followed by the increases in Huesca (3.9%), Jaén (3.3%), Vitoria (3%) and Valencia (2.8%). At the other end of the scale, Badajoz is the capital in which rents decreased the most during the last month (-1.6%), followed by Ourense (-1.2%), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (-0.9%), Pontevedra and Toledo (-0.5% in both cases).

Most expensive

Barcelona continues to be the capital with the most expensive rents with a price of 21.1 euros/m2 followed by Madrid (19.2 euros/m2) and San Sebastián (17.2 euros/m2). They are followed by Palma (15.8 euros/m2), Málaga (14.2 euros/m2) and Bilbao (13.9 euros/m2). Ciudad Real (6.6 euros/m2), Zamora (6.7 euros/m2) and Ourense (7 euros/m2) are the capitals with the cheapest rent.
