Although the construction of 40,000 homes, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda ended 2024 with the lowest budget executed, reveals idealista.
According to data from the General State Comptroller's Office (IGAE), only 32.7% of the budgetary obligations available at the end of the year had been recognised. This gap between what was promised and what was implemented adds pressure to a key ministry in the fight for access to decent housing.
The ministry assures that the actual execution is higher if the percentage of committed funds is taken into account, which reached 95.4% in 2024. They argue that, when managing aid intended for other administrations, payments depend on the documentary justification provided by these entities.
Compared to other ministries, Housing has the lowest budget execution: Labour and Social Economy closed the year with 60.4%, Territorial Policy with 67.2% and Industry and Tourism with 68.6%.
