Madrid has signed the final revocation decree and the three companies that provide service in the city will be notified: Dott, Lime and Tier Mobility. Thus, operators, who manage nearly 6,000 vehicles, have 15 working days to remove them. In this way, on October 25 no electric rental scooter without a fixed base will be able to be parked on the streets of the capital, the Department of Urban Planning, Environment and Mobility has reported.

In the event of non-compliance, the Urban Planning, Environment and Mobility department reminds us that the Municipal Police will be able to remove them from that date and fine the companies up to 1,500 euros for violating the Sustainable Mobility Ordinance.

The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, reported a month ago that the Madrid City Council was going to revoke the authorisation for the 6,000 scooters from three companies that could circulate on its streets, 2,000 per company, considering that the conditions of the concession are not being met.

"Technological improvements have not been made to guarantee that they do not circulate on the pavement or park in inappropriate places," Almeida said then. The Urban Planning, Environment and Mobility department explains that it has not been able to verify, due to the lack of information sent by the companies, that they comply with the distribution required by the concession and that limited the number of scooters located inside the M-30 to 3,600 and 2,400 in the rest of the municipality. "Therefore, we understand that the conditions for these companies to continue operating are not met."
