The Reside Plan is an initiative promoted by José Luis Martínez-Almeida's team that wants to stop the increase on tourist housing (VUT) in the most saturated neighbourhoods in Madrid’s city centre.

Among various measures there is the prohibition of VUTs in residential buildings located within the historic centre, which includes the Centro district, a large part of Chamberí, Salamanca, Retiro, Arganzuela, and specific areas such as Argüelles or El Viso. In this area, tourist dwellings may only be opened in buildings for exclusive use, says idealista.

Despite the requests from the population, the Tetuán neighbourhood will not be included in this high protection zone, mentioned idealista, based on other means of communication. This exclusion settles a debate that had been going on for months since several associations requested its inclusion.
