According to information from the infrastructure manager Adif and the operator Renfe, train service will be suspended between the Vigo-Guixar and Redondela stations on weekends in September and October 1st.

These are infrastructure improvement works, and alternative bus services will be used to bypass them.

For the Celta international train service, which connects Porto to Vigo, the route between Vigo and Valença will be operated by bus on the following days and routes: the Vigo-Porto train from 8:58 am (Spanish time) from Saturday to Monday, the Porto-Vigo train from 8:13 AM on Saturdays and Sundays, the Vigo-Porto train from 7:56 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and the Porto-Vigo train from 7:10 pm from Friday to Sunday.

This service change is in addition to the mandatory transfer in Viana do Castelo since August 17th, an "exceptional and temporary" measure to "guarantee the continuity of the service," CP said in a statement on August 8th.

Since August 17th, the route between Porto-Campanhã and Viana do Castelo has been operated by UTE 2240 electric railcars, while UTD 592 railcars remain on the Viana do Castelo-Vigo route.

Renfe assured that the international Celta train between Porto and Vigo will make a "simple transfer" in Viana do Castelo and will continue on the same schedule, citing only "operational reasons" as the reason for the service change.

The Eixo Atlântico do Noroeste Peninsular (Northwest Peninsular Atlantic Axis) denounced the "betrayal" of making changes to the international Celta train in August, condemning the "mismanagement" and guaranteeing that it will do everything possible to restore cross-border service levels.
