The following uses will again be prohibited: street sweeping, filling private swimming pools, watering gardens, public and private parks, golf courses, car washing outside authorized establishments, ornamental fountains that do not have a closed water circuit, showers and public fountains.
The Andalusian Government is expected to call a new meeting of the drought management committee today to analyse the situation in the province. At the last meeting it was agreed that the maximum daily consumption in the Axarquía, the capital of Malaga and the Guadalhorce would be 200 litres per inhabitant per day and 225 on the Western Costa del Sol.
The College of Property Administrators sent a statement to its members reminding them of the end of this exceptional period. And the Malaga City Council has shared a notice regarding the return of restrictions. The Council has indicated that these limitations, which are included in the drought decree, affect the Guadalhorce-Limonero system.
In compliance with this regional resolution, which was also approved for the rest of the coastal municipalities, the Malaga City Council reminds that from October 1, the limitations on the use of drinking water that were already contemplated in the drought decree are once again active, which continues in a situation of exceptional drought due to the lack of rainfall.
The City Council has announced that the supply of public drinking water fountains in the capital will be interrupted (although this does not affect ornamental fountains, as they have a closed water circuit) and they emphasize that the refilling of private swimming pools is once again prohibited. It is also added that drinking water cannot be used for street cleaning with low-consumption pressure washers or for watering surfaces in public and private green areas.
