As reported by Madrid City Council, the Urban Planning Department has been marking the green zones for the last few weeks.
The Moscardó neighbourhood, within the district, will be the first to be extended. Here, the SER zone will start to operate this Monday, 16 September.
It will not be the only neighbourhood in Usera where parking meters will start to operate. They will also start to operate, later on, in Almendrales and Pradolongo.
In the case of residents of Moscardó, the City Council has informed that they can now register to obtain a parking permit in person at the Línea Madrid Citizen Assistance offices, through the address www.madrid.es/ser or by calling the free phone number 010.
In the case of Moscardó, this is a neighbourhood that has seen the number of free parking spaces reduced due to the border effect with the city centre, Madrid Río, Matadero and the shopping centre in the area.
The Urban Planning Department has marked the SER green reserves in recent days: "A new area for this service that will be delimited by the streets of Manuel Noya, the Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza, the Avenida del Manzanares and the Calle Marcelo Usera."
In total, it will have 3,100 spaces reserved for residents and which will be distributed with 2,743 green and 357 blue. At the end of the year, the SER zone will be extended to the neighbourhoods of Almendrales and Pradolongo - the other two neighbourhoods in which the consultation has been successful - and a new phase will be extended to Moscardó.
Since 2020, regulated parking has been implemented in 13 neighbourhoods in five districts: Valdezarza (Moncloa-Aravaca district); Puerta del Ángel and Los Cármenes (Latina); Ventas, Colina, San Pascual, Quintana, Pueblo Nuevo, Concepción, San Juan Bautista and Atalaya (Ciudad Lineal); San Isidro (Carabanchel), and Moscardó (Usera).
