The infrastructure currently accommodates approximately 25 million passengers, and with the expansion, it will be able to accommodate 36 million passengers.
According to the Spanish newspaper Hosteltur, work will progress as soon as possible.
This information comes from Hosteltur, which assures that work will begin soon, under the DORA III program – Airport Regulation Document, which aims to invest in the modernization of Spanish airports.
The new project is known to double the airport's area, reaching 140,000 square meters, improving the capacity and quality of the infrastructure. New roads will also be built to improve aircraft movement, eliminating the need for any work on the airport's runway.
