Despite the fact that Easter Week began with weather forecasts that pointed to instability, Cantur’s facilities have registered a greater number of visitors both during the week as a whole and on the four public holidays, from Thursday to Sunday. Only El Soplao has reduced its number of visitors compared to 2024.

Thus, from Thursday to Sunday, Cabárceno, El Soplao and Fuente Dé had 34,938 visitors, 2.56% more than in 2024. The Nature Park has reached 23,268 visitors, 4% more than in 2024; Fuente Dé 4,143, 83 visitors more (4.6%), and El Soplao 7,527, 2.9% less than last year.

Once again, Cabárceno was once again the main tourist attraction in Cantabria and closed the week with 34,654 visitors, 648 visitors more than in 2024, an increase of 1.9%. The busiest day was Good Friday with 8,216 visitors.

In fact, on that day the park had to close its entrances at 13.50 as it reached its maximum capacity. The number of visitors on that day was similar to that of 2023, a record year in the history of the park.

Meanwhile, El Soplao, with 10,421 visitors between Monday and Sunday, was 2.6% lower than in 2024. During the four public holidays, 7,527 people entered the cave, and as in the previous two years, Friday and Saturday were the busiest days, with 2,121 and 2,182 visitors respectively.

Meanwhile, Fuente Dé has increased its number of visitors compared to last year by 1,106 people, despite the fact that Cantur had to close the cable car at midday on Friday due to strong gusts of wind of 80 kilometres per hour.

In total, throughout the week, it has received 6,758 visitors, compared to 5,652 in 2024, 16.36% more this year, the Government has reported.

With these figures, the Minister of Tourism, Luis Martínez Abad, has made a “very positive” balance of Easter in Cantabria and has highlighted the “strength” of the community as a tourist destination.

He stressed that the region has maintained “the high levels of recent years”, even increasing them above those of 2024, which, in his opinion, has confirmed that “Cantabria is fashionable”.

“Cantabria is attractive thanks to the fact that it has a powerful and competitive tourism sector with great attractions, such as our natural environment, our culture, our gastronomy and the quality of our tourism and leisure infrastructures,” said the minister.

He also praised the work and effort of the hoteliers who “ensure that tourists enjoy their stay with us and repeat their experience”. “One more Easter Week, Cantabria has once again shown that it is infinite”, he concluded.
