Based on the forecasts for the evolution of the tourism business in March and April - calculated jointly as a two-month period because Easter Week was held in March last year and this year it is in April - indicate that international tourist arrivals will reach 15 million, with a strong increase of 9% compared to last year, and that the total expenditure generated by foreign visitors will be around 20,000 million euros, with an increase of 13%.

Hereu stressed that during Easter Week Spanish tourism will maintain the positive evolution in arrivals and that the evolution will be even greater in spending, a more relevant figure. “We always grow more in revenue than in the number of visitors. We always grow more in added value”, said the minister, quoted by El Periodico.
