The Provincial Council of Granada has led the negotiation of a project that was closed in March 2024 and that will serve to boost tourism from the Netherlands
The air connection is good news and was highlighted by both Marcel de Nooijer, CEO of the company Transavia, which manages the flights, and Francis Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Council of Granada, the institution that has led the negotiations.
After landing, Rodríguez highlighted that Granada now has three international connections - the other two are Paris and London - which are added to the eight national destinations already usual: Madrid, Barcelona, Melilla, Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Asturias, Bilbao and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. "Granada joins a new European capital," he stressed, with pride, aware of the tourist boost that this represents, while De Nooijer stressed the "beauty" of the new destination that the company is reaching.
There will be direct flights two days a week, Monday and Friday. They will be in the afternoon, from Amsterdam at 4:20 p.m. on the way out and from Granada at 8:00 p.m. As the connection takes two hours and 55 minutes, this means that a Granada resident who wants to spend a long weekend in the capital of the Netherlands could arrive there at dawn on Friday or Saturday, enjoy Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning and return in the afternoon.
