Among the measures included in the authorization granted by the Junta de Andalucía is the hunting of these animals, within the framework of the damage control measures in certain areas of public domain.

This regional resolution establishes actions aimed at controlling the populations of invasive exotic species that are found in the wild in the natural environment, as they constitute a real risk to the ecosystem, livestock, agriculture and the population, in addition to posing a risk of traffic accidents.

The authorization, according to the information provided by the City Council, has been active since September 20, 2024 and will be valid until September 19, 2025.

It includes the location of a series of waiting posts in various positions of the Guadalmedina River and the Judío, Wittenberg, Gálica, San Antón, Jaboneros, Miraflores del Palo, Pedregalejo, Unidad, Hacienda Paredes, Quirosa, Sierra Blanquillas, Toquero and Cañada de Ceuta streams.
