Decathlon’s sports products will now be on sale on the second-hand sale platform Wallapop, as it has become a professional seller of Wallapop PRO. This will allow more than 100 Spanish Decathlon stores to sell second-hand items on the platform, which will allow 19 million users to have access to more than 20,000 sports products at a lower price.
Although the selling of second-hand sports equipment by Decathlon, on Wallapop, started in 2024, the platform now allows users to find the products in the closest store to their location. Buying at the store may bring other advantages, such as the possibility of attending workshops on how to maintain sports products, extending their useful life.
Sara Van-Deste, Director of Business Development and Professional Sellers of Wallapop states “At Wallapop, we want to be an ally for all those brands that wish to join a more circular consumption, giving their consumers the possibility of giving a second life to their products and, in this way, generating new economic opportunities for people.”
Adrián Hervella, sustainability director at Decathlon Spain, has also expressed that “with this agreement, we are taking another step forward in our commitment to extending the useful life of our products with the help of one of the best allies in the market, Wallapop.”
