'Kirk', 'Berenice' and, from this Tuesday, 'Leslie'. Extremadura will once again have active warnings for heavy rainfall in the next few hours due to the entry of a new front. These are the remains of hurricane 'Leslie' that will reach the Peninsula already weakened, just as happened with 'Kirk'.
In addition, 'Leslie' will be absorbed by an Atlantic trough that will leave rain in the Extremadura region until Thursday or Friday.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning for this Tuesday for rainfall in the entire region due to accumulations of 15 liters per square meter in one hour. In addition, both in the north and in the south and in the regions of Montánchez and Villuercas, the records could be up to 40 liters in 12 hours. The precipitations that will be discharged over the Iberian Peninsula from west to east will be of a stormy nature, adds the Aemet.
This Monday will be almost a day of 'transition' and the day will be marked by the remains of 'Berenice' that will leave cloudy intervals with the probability of scattered precipitations, weak in general. The minimum temperatures will go down slightly while the maximum temperatures will rise. Thus, the thermometers will oscillate between 14 and 28 degrees in Badajoz and 14 and 27 degrees in Cáceres.
On Tuesday the arrival of hurricane 'Leslie' is already expected as a storm. The day will be cloudy with a chance of precipitation that could be locally persistent and could be accompanied by occasional showers and thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly and maximum temperatures will fall, locally noticeable. That day the mercury will fluctuate between 16 and 25 degrees in Badajoz and 16 and 23 in Cáceres.
Wednesday will again be a cloudy day with occasional precipitation and thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain unchanged and moments of strong gusts of wind are expected in the mountainous north.
More rain is expected on Thursday, although in this case it would be weaker showers. The novelty will be in the thermometers, since a drop in temperatures is expected, which will not exceed 20 degrees maximum in the province of Cáceres -the mercury will fluctuate between 12 and 19 degrees- and will do so slightly in the province of Badajoz -the data will remain between 12 and 21 degrees-.
