The company acquired by Conor McGregor and of which he is co-promoter, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) lands in Spain with an event packed with national fighters. 'The Notorious' has set its sights on Spain, aware of the growth of the combat sports market, and is organising this Saturday the BKFC-67 evening, with the Argentine based at the Climent Club, Franco Tenaglia (3-0), current European champion of the company, as a challenger for the BKFC world belt, held by Tony Soto (6-0).
Additionally, Las Cruces, New Mexico native Austin 'No Doubt' Trout (2-0) will make his first defense of the BKFC Welterweight World Title against Lincolnshire, United Kingdom's Rico 'Bon Bon' Franco (9-2). A two-time world boxing champion and ranked fifth in the BKFC pound-for-pound rankings, Trout earned his title by defeating reigning champion Luis Palomino on February 2, 2024 at BKFC-57. Franco, meanwhile, comes in on an impressive three-fight win streak, all by knockout, most recently a victory over Kaleb Harris on July 1, 2023 at BKFC-48.
Also joining the main card is a bout that promises to be spectacular: “Redneck” David Mundell (8-1), of Dunedin, Florida, will defend his BKFC Middleweight World Title against European fan favorite Danny “The Bastard” Christie (5-1), of Cumbria, United Kingdom, who is ranked second in the weight class. Ranked as BKFC’s top pound-for-pound fighter, Mundell will make his third defense after knocking out Doug Coltrane in the second round on November 3, 2023 at BKFC-53. Christie, who has fought twice so far this year, knocked out David Round in the first round on April 6, 2024, and defeated Jimmy Millar on June 8, 2024.
Also joining BKFC-67 is undefeated bare-knuckle star Dan Chapman (5-0) of Wales, United Kingdom, who will make his highly anticipated BKFC featherweight debut, taking on undefeated Ukrainian Yevhen Kraminskyi (2-0). Also at the same event, two-time women's world champion Hannah Rankin of Glasgow, Scotland will take on professional boxer and featherweight debutant Sahel Bayat (12-3, 3 KOs in boxing) from Iran.
On the other hand, the British James 'Lights Out' Lilley (8-2-1), two-time contender for the BKFC world title, will face the Madrid native Felipe 'Praguinha' Maia (1-1). Lilley has come close to winning the title in recent fights, falling to Luis Palomino at BKFC-45 and Franco Tenaglia at BKFC-60. On the same card, the Spanish lightweights Fran Suárez and David Mora will make their debut in the BKFC.
In addition, Daniel Jacaré Toledo will fight what will probably be his last fight in his career in combat sports. The Malaga native, who will compete at home, will face the Austrian Arbi Chakaev. On the other hand, within the framework of BKFC-67, and in his first participation in this organization, Oscar Stephens-Willis will fight against Ben Davis in a lightweight fight between members of the specialized press in contact sports.
The BKFC-67 event will be held at the Marbella Arena, with Conor McGregor in the stands, along with BKFC President David Feldman. Those who are not attending the event in person can follow it through DAZN Spain. It will start at 7:00 p.m. and is estimated to last approximately six hours.
