The news was announced during the official visit to China by the President of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno. The Malaga project is part of an agreement that includes several Hygreen investments linked to Andalusia.

The Andalusian president expressed his "satisfaction" with the agreement reached between the companies Hygreen and Cox Abengoa to develop technology related to the production of green hydrogen in the community. Hygreen has also closed an agreement with the company Kemtecnia of Huelva to develop 1,000 megawatts (MW) of green hydrogen in the province of Huelva, which will entail an investment of around 2,000 million euros.
