This initiative is part of road safety measures aimed at reducing the number of traffic accidents during the summer, one of the most critical times of the year for traffic.

In this special campaign, the DGT will focus its efforts on speed control. Throughout the week, numerous speed controls will be implemented at different strategic points on the Spanish road network. These points have been selected based on accident data and traffic studies, with the aim of maximising the effectiveness of control measures, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The main objective of this campaign is to make drivers aware of the importance of respecting the established speed limits. The DGT reminds that excessive speed is one of the main causes of serious and fatal accidents on the road. With this measure, the aim is not only to reduce the average speed of vehicles in circulation, but also to increase the perception of risk among drivers, thus promoting more cautious and responsible behaviour behind the wheel.

In addition to speed controls, the campaign will include awareness-raising actions and dissemination of information through different communication channels. The DGT calls on all drivers to collaborate with these measures and contribute to improving road safety, remembering that respecting speed limits can save lives.
