In a work between Polícia Judiciária (Portugal) and the US Drug Enforcement Administration, the Spanish National Police dismantled a criminal organisation in Levante.

The operation that began in November 2024, seized 940 kilograms of drugs from Peru, hidden in a counter bound with destination to Portugal. The police arrested 11 people in Valencia, Madrid and Algeciras, one of whom was trying to escape the country via Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The authorities found the drug hidden in sacks of onions.

“The network used a company located in Portugal to send the consignments, while in Spain it used another company to manage the transport and avoid being traced by the authorities,” said the police in a statement.
