Last month alone, the number of job seekers registered with unemployment services was reduced by 25,300 to 2,560,718, the Spanish Ministry of Labor revealed.

On the other hand, last December the number of people registered with Social Security to make deductions for income from work increased: 35,500 more, to 21,337,962 people, a record for the end of the year, according to the Spanish Government.

Spain has one of the highest unemployment rates in the European Union.

According to the most recent official data, the unemployment rate in the country in the third quarter of 2024 was 11.21%, slightly lower than the 11.27% in the previous three months and the lowest since 2008.
