This measure will be applied from July onwards and will allow 50% of the travel allowance for those who do not meet the basic age requirement for free travel. This will be done through the existing Youth Transport Card, which will allow thousands of children in Cádiz to use public transport for free.

In the case of Cádiz, the public transport included will be those of the Bay of Cádiz Transport Consortium. This includes all bus lines that connect most municipalities in the province of Cádiz and even the tram that connects Chiclana with Cádiz, passing through all of San Fernando. This is the exception of Campo de Gibraltar, which has its own transport consortium. Although this announcement also applies to children in Campo de Gibraltar. This measure has been confirmed after the Andalusian Regional Government announced that it will take charge of funding free transport for children under 14.

Children under 14 can travel free on buses with the Youth Transport Card. Similarly, those under 30 who do not meet these requirements can travel at a 50% discount. After July 1, the discounts will continue to be available to the rest of the population. In this case, it will be 40% for users of ordinary transport tickets. The remaining 20% will be financed by the Andalusian Government and the remaining 20% by the Ministry of Transport, as until now.

For young people, it is essential that they have the Youth Transport Card, implemented in 2022. The essential requirements in this case are being of the required age and residing in Andalusia. Young people from large families can also receive a 100% discount on public transport, meaning they can also travel for free. This card can be obtained at the Transport Consortium offices in each province or by completing an online application available on the Andalusian Regional Government website.
