According to the European Union's statistical office, among the main components of inflation in the eurozone, food, alcohol, and tobacco are expected to record the highest annual rate in August (3.2%, down from 3.3% in July), followed by services (3.1%, down from 3.2% in July), industrial goods excluding energy (0.8%, stable compared to July), and energy (-1.9%, down from -2.4% in July).

The underlying inflation rate (which excludes volatile elements such as energy and food prices) remained stable at 2.3% month-on-month, down from 2.8% in August 2024.
