Compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, between January and March, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the euro area and the EU both rose by 0.3 per cent, after having grown by 0.2 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively in the last three months of 2024.
The employment indicator, on the other hand, rose by 0.8 per cent in the eurozone and 0.6 per cent in the EU in the first quarter of 2025, after 0.8 per cent in the eurozone and 0.5 per cent in the EU in the fourth quarter of 2024.
In the quarterly comparison, employment rose by 0.3 per cent in the euro area and 0.2 per cent in the 27 member states as a whole, after growing by 0.1 per cent in the euro area and 0.2 per cent in the EU.
