In addition to the data released - and regretted - by the president of the island council, Vicente Marí, and other employers' associations, there is now dismay shown by the Association of Holiday Tourist Accommodations of Ibiza (AVAT) about the fall in family visits to the island, and the reduction in average stays that this translates into.

AVAT recalled that holiday accommodation is a very popular type of accommodation among families, due to their needs and the increase in 'adults only' hotels. Therefore, the association considers that they favour the arrival of this type of holidaymaker and, therefore, indirectly contribute to an increase in average stays and spending per visitor.

“We also want to remember the importance that the holiday housing sector had in the years of the pandemic, proving to be one of the driving forces of the Ibizan economy and allowing the rapid reactivation of tourism on the Island,” they reiterated in statements collected by Diario de Ibiza.

AVAT has called on the authorities to take into account the tourist housing employers' association in future promotions of the Island as a destination, with the aim of recovering family tourism.
