Barcelona is positioned as the most booked destination for travelling over the long weekend in August, according to data from eDreams, followed by Palma de Mallorca and Paris (France). The online travel agency points out that Spain accounts for 43% of all trips.
The ‘top 10’ of bookings are completed by Ibiza, London (United Kingdom), Lisbon (Portugal), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Rome (Italy), Malaga and Madrid.
For the August long weekend, between Wednesday 14 and Sunday 18, the airports in the Aena network in Spain have 34,140 flights scheduled, which represents an increase of 3.6% compared to the same period last year, when it was from Friday to Tuesday.
