“Two new lines of grants are being launched: those aimed at artistic production and research, and those specifically for the photography sector, which join those aimed in previous years at supporting art galleries”
The Ministry of Culture reveals that “in 2025, a total of €3 million will be allocated to the promotion of contemporary art, in addition to the €2 million in grants for Tabacalera residencies, which were announced in 2024 and are currently in the process of being awarded.”
“As a new feature, two new lines of funding are being introduced this year: one for artistic production and research, and another to support the promotion of photography, which is being announced in parallel with the upcoming opening of the National Photography Centre in Soria.”
The “funding for art galleries has been significantly increase”, due to the funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Therefore, “€700,000 have been allocated to grants for attending fairs abroad, in addition to €300,000 for attending international fairs in Spain and for the galleries' own projects.”
“These calls for proposals represent a step forward in the Ministry's commitment to promoting the contemporary art sector, responding to needs in areas such as creation and research, mobility and support for art galleries.”
