The socialist party explains in the proposal, which has been registered for debate in the plenary session and reported by Europa Press, quoted by idealista, that one of the main factors behind depopulation is the exodus of young people to large cities in search of better conditions and educational and employment opportunities.
In the opinion of the Socialist Group, one of the most promising actions to explore to encourage the return of young people to rural areas, together with improving access to public services, is the promotion of remote work.
In this context, the PSOE urges the government led by socialist Pedro Sánchez to promote teleworking in the public administration for workers who can perform their duties digitally and who regularly reside in areas experiencing demographic decline or in rural areas, with minimal face-to-face attendance and ‘pools of hours’ for face-to-face work.
