This was announced by the Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, together with the Councillor for Urban Planning, Enrique Catalina; and the spokesperson for the local Government, Jorge Saavedra, to whom she explained that it is an investment of 37.59 million euros, of which 11 come from the municipal coffers and the rest are provided by Emasagra, and will be used them to improve the sanitation network.

The objective, the mayor said, is to "advance" in the Granada "of the future", to make a city "to live in, more pleasant and habitable, a city with more trees, more space for citizens and, therefore, more comfortable and friendly to the environment."

Carazo has emphasized the "planning" of the works, which she has elaborated on as "for the first time, a response is given to the historical demands of the city's neighbourhoods."
