As of 1 April 2025, the price of a cylinder of butane will be 17.67 euros, which represents a rise of 1.03 euros compared to February, the date on which the price increased last time. 17,67 euros is the highest price that the cylinder has reached since January 2023, when it reached the same amount.

The price of a cylinder is revised every two months and is established according to the international price of oil, as well as exchange rates and estimated marketing costs. Once these figures are calculated, a final consumer price is determined.

For April 2025, the Spanish government has stipulated the price of these costs at a maximum of 115.3287 cents per kilogramme. Considering that a cylinder weighs 16.8 kilos, the base price for each unit would be 1,937.52 euros. To this amount, the special hydrocarbon tax of 15 euros and VAT of 21% would have to be added, resulting in a total of 17.67 euros.
