The organisation Cada Lata Cuenta (Every Can Counts) and the Cádiz City Council have launched the campaign 'Tu lata, al amarillo' (Your can, in yellow) which is being carried out for the fourth summer in the city with the aim of raising awareness about recycling cans on the beaches and promoting "sustainable and clean" tourism.

The presentation of the campaign, held on the beach of Santa María del Mar, was attended by the deputy mayor for the Environment and head of Beaches, José Carlos Teruel, the coordinator of Cada Lata Cuenta in Cádiz, Francisco Javier Oliva, and representatives of Horeca and the Association of Street Vendors of cans on the beaches of Cádiz.

José Carlos Teruel pointed out that this initiative is "fundamental to raise awareness among the population that cans and containers should go in the yellow bin", indicating that although "there is an awareness of recycling, there is still more that can be done to achieve better recycling figures".

"Throwing the can into the yellow bin guarantees 100% recycling, ensuring that in 60 days the can is back in circulation, and saving 95% of the energy needed to create a new can”.
